Ceylon tea is special; which is why tea produced in Sri Lanka is among the most sought after, fragrant and flavourful teas in the world. The secret to this is the varying elevations at which the Ceylon tea is grown, as the natural elements infuse the tea with a natural bouquet, flavour and colour. Zesta’s parent company has a total of 17 estates located across three elevations – Low Grown, Mid Grown and High Grown – from where Zesta tea is produced. Our teas are garden fresh and packed at source with each cup retaining the fresh and irresistible flavour of its origins.
Known for its ‘malty’ taste, the flagship Kenilworth Estate produces single origin Ceylon tea with a 100% Orthodox manufacturing process, enjoyed by tea devotees around the world. Sandwiched between two main rivers, Kelani and Mahaweli in the lush central hills of Sri Lanka, Kenilworth has a unique soil and elevation that brings out the larger tea leaf grades that produce a copper coloured, aromatic tea that is both energising and refreshing. It embodies the exquisite taste of the Dimbula region and Mid Grown range tea. Kenilworth Estate produces four different grades of tea.
Originally owned and managed by M/s Gorden Frazer & Co Ltd, the name Kenilworth can be traced back to a magnificent castle situated in Warwickshire in the UK. The tea produced here is light with an appealing caramel aftertaste, which is why the Zesta Connoisseur Collection includes teas from this single origin estate, produced only by using the highest quality of leaf “BOPF”.
